Engineering for Ghana & West Africa

My name is Nee Addottey Allotey. I am a structural and civil engineer based in Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana, with more than ten years of engineering experience spanning structural design, civil infrastructure, flood control, hydraulic engineering, and construction supervision.

I began my career in the United States, where I worked for three years as a Staff Engineer at Eng., Inc in Michigan, designing municipal stormwater systems, earthwork grading schemes, road alignments, and detention ponds. This formative experience — progressing from technical support to independent design responsibility on large-scale drainage and environmental improvement projects — gave me a rigorous foundation in civil and hydraulic engineering practice.

I subsequently returned to Ghana, where I joined Broad Consult Ltd in Accra as a Staff Engineer. There I specialised in bridge construction, contract evaluation, and erosion control — supervising construction of nine modular steel bridges across Ghana's trunk road network, developing scour and erosion protection designs for eight bridge sites, and conducting bridge inventories and condition surveys for the Ghana Highway Authority. This work gave me deep familiarity with infrastructure delivery in the Ghanaian context, including local procurement, site conditions, and the regulatory environment.

Most recently, as Project Engineer at Punctum Construction Ltd in Accra, I have taken responsibility for drainage, roadway, and building construction projects — supervising U-drain construction, preparing site layout plans, designing culverts, and overseeing reinforced concrete building frame construction. I exercise independent engineering judgement in drainage design, structural supervision, and site planning.

Across all disciplines, my approach is the same: rigorous analysis, clear documentation, and practical delivery. I understand Ghana's construction sector — the materials available, the contractors' capabilities, the regulatory requirements, and the challenges that come with building in a rapidly urbanising West African context. Clients who work with me get engineering that is designed to be built, not just designed.

Service Area

I am based in Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana and serve clients across Ghana — including Kumasi, Tamale, Cape Coast, and other regional centres — as well as across West Africa. For the right project, I am available to travel to sites in Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and neighbouring countries. Remote engineering services (design, calculations, and document preparation) are available to clients anywhere in the region.
